My name is
Beverly and I was diagnosed with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
Syndrome or RSD/CRPS Two years after having been rear-ended while
driving my truck, on January 15 1998. Prior to this accident I
enjoyed working as a nurse for the elderly. However, I could
no longer continue with this due to the complications of
having RSD. You will find my story and the stories of many
others under the “About RSD” link above. I have met many kind,
generous and loving people on my journey both prior to and
since contracting RSD. I admire many qualities in people, such
as: honesty, trustworthiness, compassion, unconditional love
and respect. I enjoy hiking, biking, camping, fishing, roller
blading, crafts, movies. One of my greatest joys was being
able to spend time with my son and doing things that “mom’s
and son’s do”. Another joy of my life was running a food bank
out of my home for needy people. I had over 500 people a year
coming to my home: mothers and kids in need, single people and
also the homeless. It pained me deeply when I had to give this
up, but this dreadful monster that lives in my body and my
soul prevents me from pursuing many things these days. I feel
it has taken everything from me. I hope you find this site a
valuable resource and that it helps you gain a greater
understanding about this debilitating disease. |
